Palestinian Leader Mahmoud Abbas

As I have noted in recent posts, there is sometimes quite a bit of difference in the amount of emphasis given to certain stories over time . Here is another example. I searched each site using “Abbas” as the search term. Here is a list of the December 2004 headlines, for both Fox News and CNN, that include reference to Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas in the headline.

Fox:

Palestinian Candidate Stumps With Terrorists - Friday, December 31, 2004
Abbas Embracing Gunman Worries Israelis
- Thursday, December 30, 2004
Abbas Urges Israel to Tear Down Fence
- Wednesday, December 29, 2004
Abbas: We Cannot Compromise on Jerusalem
- Saturday, December 25, 2004
Abbas Says He'll Follow in Arafat's Footsteps
- Tuesday, December 21, 2004
Israeli Foreign Minister Criticizes Abbas
- Tuesday, December 21, 2004
Abbas: Palestinian Armed Uprising Must End
- Wednesday, December 15, 2004
Abbas Apologizes to Kuwait
- Sunday, December 12, 2004
Abbas Apologizes to Kuwait for Saddam Support
- Sunday, December 12, 2004
Abbas Leading in Palestinian Election Poll
- Monday, December 06, 2004

CNN:

Abbas offers apology to Kuwaitis (12.12.2004)

Quite a difference. The differences go both ways as you can see by my post for the Sudan crisis with little coverage by Fox News but covered extensively by CNN.
