More on the Italian Journalist

This is just a quick follow-up to this weekend’s post on the Italian journalist incident where her car was fired on in Iraq. In a subtle way, CNN continues to not be as strong as Fox on the U.S. role. In identical, short AP articles on both web sites here is the opening sentence:

The White House on Monday said it was "absurd" for a former hostage in Iraq to charge that U.S. military forces may have deliberately targeted her car as she was being rushed to freedom.

Here are the respective headlines:

CNN: White House: U.S. didn't target journalist

FOX: U.S.: Italian Hostage Claim 'Absurd'

Fox uses the stronger word “absurd” whereas CNN notes that she was not targeted. For more details on my previous post, see:
