Senator Byrd and Nazi Remark

Both CNN and Fox ran nearly identical AP stories on Senator Byrd’s (D-WV) comments related to Hitler. Both news sources chose their own headlines. Fox’s headline was about strong negative reaction to the comment: “Jewish groups blast Byrd for Nazi remarks.” CNN was more defensive of the Democratic senator with, “Byrd spokesman defends senator's Hitler remarks.”

There is another interesting difference given that they are almost the same articles with some wording differences and some of the order of the sentences changed around. CNN’s opening sentence was about a Byrd spokesman’s explanation of the Nazi comment. Fox’s lead sentence was about two Jewish groups’ accusation of Byrd “making an outrageous and reprehensible comparison between Adolf Hitler's Nazis and a Senate GOP plan to block Democrats from filibustering.”

Seems to be some bias in the choices of both news sources.
